Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks have finalized his new contract worth $50 million over two seasons. The deal contains $30 million in guaranteed money and a team option for Year 2 if he decides to play in the 17-18 season.

Nowitzki had initially agreed upon a two-year, $40 million deal with the Mavericks.

Nowitzki was a free agent after coming off a three-year, $30 million deal in 2014 that contained a player option for 16-17.

Harrison Barnes had a few years to brace for his departure from the Golden State Warriors as he was involved in trade rumors in 2013 for Dwight Howard, in 2014 for Kevin Love and then from 2015 until July of 2016, it was well-known Kevin Durant would be pursued in free agency.

"Dwight trade rumors. Kevin Love trade rumors. Kevin Durant ... oh, that one happened," said Barnes. "There's been a few instances where you consider what might happen. I was just more so glad to be there as long as I was."

Barnes was the No. 7 overall pick in 2012 and disappointed a lot of Warriors' fans but he still was good enough to receive a max contract in free agency from the Dallas Mavericks.

"It's been a chaotic summer," Barnes said. "I haven't really had time to process too much. We lost in the Finals. I'm going to Dallas. I'm here on the Olympic team. Even being here hasn't sunk in yet. It's been a whirlwind. I'm just trying to take it all in."

Kyle Collinsworth is close to a two-year partially guaranteed deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

Collinsworth has secured a training camp invite with the Mavericks as a part of the deal. He gets a sum of guaranteed money and a shot at making the roster.

"I'm excited about the opportunity," Collinsworth said. "All you can ask for is an opportunity, and the Mavericks are a great team and organization."

Collinsworth played for Dallas in the Summer League.

Rodrigue Beaubois has declined an invitation from the Dallas Mavericks to join them for training camp.

The Mavericks were offering a three-year, partially guaranteed deal for the NBA's minimum. Beaubois would have had to compete for a roster spot with Jonathan Gibson.

Beaubois is close to a deal with Saski Baskonia in Spain.

Beaubois showed promise early in his career with the Mavericks before he was hampered by injuries.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed guard-forward Nicolas Brussino.

Brussino (6-7, 195) is an Argentinian swingman who spent the 2015-16 season with Penarol Mar del Plata, averaging 14.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 59 games. He shot 55.6 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from 3-point range and 72.1 percent from the foul line last season.

Brussino has represented the Argentinian National Team since 2012. He went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed guard Jonathan Gibson. 

Gibson (6-2, 185) is currently playing on the Mavericks Summer League team in Las Vegas. In five games, he has averaged 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 28.0 minutes while shooting 50.7 percent (35-69 FGs) from the field, 46.9 percent (15-32 3FGs) from 3-point range and 81.8 percent (9-11 FTs) from the free throw line.

Gibson has played internationally for the last six years in four different countries (Turkey, Israel, Italy and China). Most recently, he played 36 games for Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles (China) and averaged 42.0 points (2nd in the league), 6.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals. He shot 50.9% from the field, 41.3% from 3-point range and 86.1% from the FT line.

Quincy Acy has agreed upon a two-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

Acy spent last season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game.

Acy was the 37th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Baylor.

Mark Cuban believes the Golden State Warriors with Kevin Durant will drive interest in the NBA.

"They become the villain," Cuban said. "Just like when LeBron James went to Miami, I loved that there was a villain. They become the villain. I'm fine with that. Everybody's going to root for them to lose."

Adam Silver said the NBA would look at possible chances to their system to prevent a superteam like the Warriors.

Cuban declined to comment on potential changes to the CBA, other than saying that "a lot of research" will be necessary before any changes are proposed.

The Golden State Warriors gave Andrew Bogut the choice between joining the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets this offseason.

The Rockets were offering the Warriors the same deal Dallas made for Bogut.

The Philadelphia 76ers also expressed heavy interest but the Warriors felt like they owed it to Bogut to trade him to a team with realistic playoff aspirations.

The Dallas Mavericks have waived JaVale McGee.

McGee (7-0, 270) averaged 5.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 10.9 minutes in 34 games after signing with Dallas on August 13, 2015.
