Bogut Won't Be Limited In Preseason

Sep 30, 2010 11:33 PM

Andrew Bogut is still returning from injury, but he won't be limited in the preseason.

"Obviously in the first two or three exhibition games, we're not going to overplay anybody," Scott Skiles said.

Bogut has taken part in two of the three contact practices during the first three days of training camp, including Thursday's session.

"I'm just not overdoing my elbow at the moment," Bogut said. "Even having three sessions for me in two days was huge. It's a big step for me to go out here and take knocks and hits and get through it, so I felt pretty good today."

Colangelo: Shoes Have No Bearing On Team USA Roster

Sep 15, 2010 5:09 PM

Team USA executive Jerry Colangelo is disputing a claim by Bucks guard Brandon Jennings that shoes have a role in the selection of the United States national team.

Jennings, who didn't make the squad, wondered in a recent interview whether the fact that he doesn't wear Nike was the reason.

"I'm the one who picks [players]. What somebody wears in the way of shoes or gear doesn't have any impact on who is selected," Colangelo told Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

Nike is an official sponsor of Team USA.

Jennings Blames Shoes For Team USA Snub

Sep 14, 2010 8:22 AM

Bucks guard Brandon Jennings isn't exactly sure why he wasn't invited to try out for Team USA this summer, but he thinks his shoes might have had something to do with it.

Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry, who along with Jennings were among the NBA's top rookies last season, were invited. Both wear Nike, Team USA's sponsor, while Jennings spots Under Armour.

"It's not my call. That's on them," Jennings said. "But if you want to get technical about it and you really want to look at it, half of the guys there are Nike guys. I'm not saying it's a Nike thing, but Nike is kind of running a lot of things right now. To have a guy like myself on the USA team that's flashy and really outgoing, you don't want Under Armour to get all that [publicity].

"I'm just telling you how it is."

Of the 12 members on Team USA's final roster, only Chauncey Billups, Derrick Rose and Eric Gordon wear shoes other than Nike.

Bogut Scrimmages With Teammates

Sep 11, 2010 10:34 AM

The Bucks didn't play a formal game on Friday, but they can take away their scrimmage play as a victory.

Andrew Bogut ran the court and took part in a five-on-five scrimmage with his teammates. He was knocked down several times, but bounced right back up on his feet.

Bogut is returning from multiple injuries to his right hand and arm.

"I still feel it's going to be a long process for me, but I've already been scrimmaging here the last couple days," Bogut said. "Obviously, if I take a huge hit, I might be in some trouble for now.

"For a general tradesman, or if a general person does this, it's a six- to 12-month thing. It's never an easy thing if you break three things on one spot on your body. I did my rehab every day during the summer in Australia and Croatia and stayed disciplined with it five days a week."

On April 3, Bogut suffered broken bones in his right wrist, a broken right index finger and a dislocated right elbow, and he had bone chips in the elbow.
