Bogut Will Avoid Surgery On Fractured Ankle

Feb 25, 2012 11:58 AM

Andrew Bogut underwent a CT scan on his fractured left ankle and it was determined that the ankle was healing appropriately and will not require surgery.

Bucks general manager John Hammond said the diagnosis would not change the original recovery timetable of 8-12 weeks.

"Bogut will be allowed to progress to the next stage of his rehabilitation program and will undergo an additional scan in approximately one month," Hammond said.

In 12 games this season, Bogut averaged 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 blocked shots in 30.0 minutes per contest.

Przybilla Close To Deciding Between Heat, Bulls, Bucks, Blazers

Feb 22, 2012 10:13 AM

Joel Przybilla is expected to decide on Wednesday which team he will sign with for the remainder of the season.

Przybilla is picking between the Heat, Bulls, Bucks or Blazers.

"I think Portland is always the sentimental favorite for obvious reasons," agent Bill Duffy said. "Joel has a home here and he had the best years of his career here. And at this particular time, it looks like he is needed, too."

Bogut Hopes To Avoid Surgery, Return This Season

Feb 15, 2012 10:16 AM

Andrew Bogut hopes he won't need surgery to repair his fractured left ankle.

"Everything is kind of relying on this next scan," Bogut said. "I've got all my swelling out. It's obviously still painful. I'm doing physio almost every other day, but I can't leave the house because I don't want to risk walking on it unless I really have to."

Bogut plans to consult with doctors after undergoing a CT scan next Wednesday.

"Hopefully it's non-surgical," Bogut said. "My ultimate goal is hopefully to get back by the end of the season and playoffs if we make the playoffs.

"But it's kind of hard for me to speculate. Once we get the scan results we'll know more and make an announcement. I'm hopeful. They say there's a high chance I won't need surgery and it should heal on its own. Being an athlete, I'm getting treatment every day and icing."

Udrih Frustrated With Lack Of Playing Time, Won't Commit To Exercising Player Option

Feb 10, 2012 10:27 AM

Beno Udrih is having trouble cracking Scott Skiles’ backcourt rotation.

"I didn't expect to play 15 minutes a game here," Udrih said. "I thought it would be like between 25 and 30 minutes and maybe play with Brandon (Jennings) a little because Brandon likes to move to the shooting guard, too.

"I can't get into a rhythm. I get two shots coming right into the game and I might miss them and then I'm out of the game.”

Udrih, who has a player’s option for $7.8 million next season, wouldn't say whether he'll exercise his option to remain with the Bucks.

"I just want to see how this year turns out," said Udrih, who planned to play in Russia if the NBA lockout hadn't ended.

Jennings To Consider Bigger Markets

Feb 10, 2012 1:19 AM

Brandon Jennings revealed that he will consider leaving Milwaukee for a bigger market when his rookie contract ends.

"I am going to keep my options open, knowing that the time is coming up,'' Jennings said in an email interview. "I'm doing my homework on big market teams.''

Jennings will become eligible to sign a long-term extension with the Bucks this summer.

"I'm not saying I won't (sign an extension with the Bucks) and I'm not saying I will,'' he said. "I'm just keeping my options open.''

Jennings played one season in Italy instead of going to Arizona for his freshman season.

"It has nothing to do with the city of Milwaukee or anything like that because that's where I started my career,'' Jennings said. "They've been nothing but good to me. (Coach) Scott Skiles and (general manager) John Hammond have been good to me. It's just that I'm understanding the business of basketball now.''
