Jazz To Be Placed In Family-Run 'Legacy' Trust

Jan 23, 2017 4:02 PM

The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies owner and chairman Gail Miller announced Monday she will transfer ownership of the Utah Jazz and Vivint SmartHome Arena to a legacy fund.

Miller called the transfer "an unprecedented move" that will ensure the Jazz will "remain in Utah for generations to come."

Miller, 73, has been the head of the corporation since the death of her husband, the late Larry H. Miller, in 2009. Forbes has called Miller the richest person in the state of Utah, with a net worth estimated around $1.7 billion.

Jae Crowder Objects To Celtics' Fans Cheering For Gordon Hayward

Jan 4, 2017 12:01 PM

Jae Crowder objected to the way fans of the Boston Celtics cheered for Gordon Hayward before Tuesday's game at TD Garden.

Hayward is expected to be a free agent target for the Celtics this offseason.

Crowder responded with maybe his best game of the season, scoring 21 points on 6 of 8 shooting, while making all but one of the six 3-pointers that he put up over 35 minutes of floor time as part of Boston's 115-104 victory.

"I heard the cheering before the game. I didn't like that at all," said Crowder. "I think that was a sign of disrespect to me from the fans. That sparked a little fire in me."

"I just felt disrespected," Crowder added.

Crowder is in the second year of a five-year, $35 million deal that he signed with the Celtics in July 2015.
