Wilson Chandler, NYK ? Chandler was a force in the Knicks? opener against the Cavs.  Chandler showed an improved jumper, and continued to attack the hoop all game, on his way to 26 points.  He struggled a bit in their second game, but Chandler has already caught the eye of new Knicks coach Mike D?Antoni and has opportunity to contribute this season.

Danilo Gallinari, NYK ? Gallinari?s much-anticipated debut started off slow as he missed all four of his first half shots, as he was attempting to get a feel for the style of play.  In the second half however, Danilo was much better as he went off for 14 points in a seven-minute span, which included a thunderous put-back slam and a beautiful step-back jumper.  While his debut contained a little of everything, Gallinari certainly showed the skills that convinced Donnie Walsh to select him sixth overall.

Anthony Roberson, NYK ? Roberson?s 22 points against the Cavs has reportedly earned him a 2-year deal with the Knicks.  While playing a stellar first game, Roberson struggled from the field in their 2nd game (4-13) and often settled for a tough jump-shot rather than hitting an open teammate.

J.J. Hickson, CLE ? Hickson has been superb through the Cavs first two games (22.0 PPG).  He has shown a great nose for the ball and finished strong when he caught the ball anywhere near the hoop.

Jerryd Bayless, POR ? Through 2 games, Bayless has looked every bit the part of the player that was originally considered a top-5 pick.  He plays with a 2nd gear that is seen in very few players such as Chris Paul and Allen Iverson, and similarly gets to the hoop and finishes.  He has also been to the free throw line a ridiculous 39 times, which accounted for 31 of his 54 total points (27 PPG).

Petteri Koponen, POR ? The Blazers ?07 first round pick has been a steady back court mate to Bayless, averaging 18.5 points through 2 games and showing off his sharp shooting ability.

Donte Greene, HOU ? Greene turned in the best performance so far, as he dropped 40 points on the Suns.  With an array of moves to the hoop, three-pointers (5/10) and free throws (11/12), he let everyone in the Thomas and Mack Center know why he felt he was ready for the League after only one inconsistent season at the Carrier Dome.  However, he should have saved a few of those shots, as 2 days later he struggled his way to a 4/17 outing, but still managed to finish with 18 points.

Robin Lopez, PHX ? Not known for scoring, Lopez surprised everyone with 19 points and was a force defensively in the Suns only game so far.

Kevin Love, MIN ? Love continues to do what he had done all year for UCLA coach Ben Howland, as he is averaging 18 points and 15 rebounds through the Wolves 2 games.  Love boxes out exceptionally well and has shown that an intelligent player with a nose for the ball can make up for not having top-flight athleticism.  Also, his outlet passes are a thing of beauty.

Marreese Speights, PHI ? One of the draft?s biggest unknowns, Speights has been a monster all week.  He attacks the rim with Amare-esque ferociousness and has been active defensively, all while even sinking a few mid-range jumpers for good measure.  In my opinion, Speights has been the most impressive player all week.

D.J. Augusitin, CHA ? Augustin dazzled his way to 30 points on Weds.  Everything was clicking for the Texas alum, as he finished beautifully around the rim, knocked down a couple of threes and converted on 10 of 11 free throws.

Marco Belinelli, GSW ? Belinelli continues to prove that he can score in the Summer League, as he matched Augustin?s 30 with a beautiful display of shooting.  Now someone just has to tell Don Nelson so we can see what happens when the games count.

Al Thronton, LAC ? Thornton has continued to build off of his steady rookie campaign, as he scored at least 20 on 3 of the Clips 4 games.

News and Notes: Ramon Sessions continues to surprise as he leads the VSL with 6.5 assists? Both DJ Strawberry and Alando Tucker played well in Phoenix?s only game? After sitting out the first game, Joey Dorsey snagged 14 rebounds for Houston?Wizards F Andray Blatche finished well around the hoop, averaging 17.5 PPG in 2 game.  Danilo Gallinari is nursing a sore lower back and is questionable for the rest of the week.
