Giannis Antetokounmpo Resting Sore Knee For Eight Days

Jan 20, 2018 9:43 AM

After consulting with the Bucks performance staff, Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the next two games to manage soreness in his right knee. By not playing in Saturday's game at Philadelphia and Monday’s home game vs. Phoenix, Antetokounmpo will have eight days without playing in a game, using that time to receive treatment.

Antetokounmpo has missed two games this season with right knee soreness. He plans to return to game action on Jan. 26 when the Bucks face the Brooklyn Nets at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

In his fifth season, Antetokounmpo ranks first in the NBA in minutes played (37.4) and second in scoring at 28.2 points per game while averaging career-highs in rebounds per game (10.1) and field goal percentage (.546).

Hill signed a three-year, $57 million deal with the Sacramento Kings during the 2017 offseason, but the franchise has pivoted back towards youth development. The final season of Hill's deal is partially guaranteed.

Hill can play either guard position and also come off the bench.

Cleveland has a crowded backcourt due to the presence of Isaiah Thomas, Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose.

Hornets Have Tried To Trade Nicolas Batum, Dwight Howard, Marvin Williams, Kidd-Gilchrist

Jan 19, 2018 10:08 AM

While the Charlotte Hornets are prepared to trade franchise cornerstone Kemba Walker, they previously made a number of other players available in trade talks.

League sources say the Hornets have explored trades involving Nicolas Batum, Dwight Howard, Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, but there was little interest from rival teams.

Batum is owed $100 million over four seasons while Howard has $47 million over two years, and Williams is owed $42 million over three years. Kidd-Gilchrist has $39 million over three years on his rookie scale extension.

Enes Kanter Hopes To Spend Remainder Of Career With Knicks

Jan 19, 2018 11:20 AM

After bouncing from the Utah Jazz to the Oklahoma City Thunder and now the New York Knicks over the past few seasons, Enes Kanters believes he's found a home after just 45 games with the franchise.

Kanter has felt more at home in New York with its large Turkish community.

"You still miss your own food," said Kanter. "You still miss Turkish people, talking Turkish, you still miss your culture. That's why New York is the best place to be because everywhere you go there's Turkish people, your friends are here, you can go to eat Turkish food every day. In Utah we had none. OKC, we had one restaurant. ... It just makes you feel warmer, it makes you feel more welcome."

Kanter had low expectations for the Knicks before his arrival.

"Before I came here, you were hearing it or were thinking, 'Oh, it's New York, they haven't made the playoffs for the last whatever years. The organization is not good. They're changing the GMs and all this other stuff. People are not good there.' ... But after I came, I realized that this is the place that I want to be and to play for a long time. Because people in the organization are so warm and so welcoming."

Kanter was asked what led him to decide he wants his future to be with the Knicks.

"I remember during the draft I went to see a lot of organizations. But after you play in New York, you don't really want to go anywhere else. The people around are so cool. I remember maybe it was my second month here. I was thinking, 'This place is so cool, I want to retire here.' I remember one of the media guys was asking me, 'Is it too early to decide because you've been here for not even a half season? Why did you want to decide that you wanted to retire as a Knick?" I was like, 'This is the place I want to be.' You play at Madison Square Garden, you see all the famous people. I'm really cool with Ben Stiller."

Kanter has a player option for the 18-19 season.
