Michigan Live reports that Detroit began bringing players in this week for workouts. On Wednesday, small forwards Rodney White of UNC-Charlotte, Joe Johnson of Arkansas and Richard Jefferson of Arizona worked out for the Pistons. On Thursday, the Pistons took a look at centers Brendan Haywood of North Carolina, Samuel Dalembert of Seton Hall and Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje of Georgetown. The Pistons invited Birmingham native Shane Battier, a 6-foot-8 All-American at Duke, but he declined because he will likely be among the top five or six players selected.
