Peter May writes that the upcoming luxury tax means the Celtics have no interest in any free agent signings.  With Paul Pierce set to sign a maximum (around $10M) extension that kicks in next season, the Globe reporter says the Celtics will be right around the luxury tax mark in 2002/03.  "This is a business," Boston coach Jim O'Brien said, "and that luxury tax is something we're not getting close to. [Free agency] is not on the screen at all."  May also reviews the week's activities around the league.

Meanwhile, the Sporting News gives the Celtics an A for the draft.  They also report that re-signing Bryant Stith is the main off-season priority.
