Shira Springer observes in her weekly Sporting News column that the competition for playing time at point guard appeared to be more of a battle when the 2000-01 regular season ended, then when training camp started.


In the midst of the new positive atmosphere for the Celtics, Kenny Anderson has arrived at camp in great condition and determined to restore his flagging career.  Anderson says, "I wanted to come back with a different mindset and a different attitude this year.  Mostly, though, I want to bring the love (of the game) back into it for me. Just enjoy what I'm doing out there again. My mother even told me, 'Kenny, when you're out there, you don't even smile anymore.' "
