They came to see Michael Jordan on Thursday night.
The big, the small. The old, the young. They were all at The Palace, making quite a statement with an exhibition-game sellout of 22,076. For sure, this would have been a wonderful scene five years ago.
Instead, it was kind of sad. Most were there for the wrong reason. They weren't there to see Jordan, arguably the best basketball player ever, ply his trade, slaying all in his way en route to yet another championship. That's what Jordan, a living legend, represented.
