"I was in shock when I got traded," Jones said. "I couldn't believe I was traded because I showed up big during the playoffs. I thought my play in the playoffs earned me at least two more years in Philly, but the trade taught me about the business side of the NBA."

The trade also taught Jones another valuable lesson. The move had an even bigger meaning.

"After a few days, I looked at the trade as an opportunity to play a lot more and show a lot of people that I can play," Jones said. "This gives me the opportunity to show what I can do without the All-Stars around. I'll get a chance to show what I have."
