Peter Vecsey reports that the Denver Nuggets contemplated dealing Antonio McDyess prior to his knee surgery.

According to "those in the know", Vecsey says the Nets offered Keith Van Horn and Kenyon Martin for McDyess, mostly at the behest of Jason Kidd. Vecsey says Voshon Lenard or another player earning in the range of $3-4 million would have needed to be included for cap purposes.

Vecsey further explains that the Pacers made inquiries as well, hoping to find a complement to Jermaine O'Neal. Supposedly, Jalen Rose was dangled, but Isiah Thomas actually prefered Raef LaFrentz instead.

Is Vecsey really on top of things, or has he been playing with the RealGM Trade Checker?

Vecsey goes on to take pokes at the Knicks and Bulls, while heaping a small amount of praise on the L.A. Clippers.
