Kenyon Martin likes to joke that he guarded "everybody" last season for the Nets.

Tonight, though, he gets a chance to check Michael Jordan when the Nets and Wizards meet for the second time in four days here at the BI-LO Center.

With Martin at home Saturday because of tendinitis of the knee, Jordan torched rookie Richard Jefferson and journeyman Donny Marshall for 41 points during the Nets' 102-95 preseason victory over the Wizards in Washington. Jordan scored 16 points during a six-minute stretch in the third quarter, sinking two straight three-pointers and even throwing down a vintage one-handed dunk. Jordan finished 15-of-24 from the field in 33 minutes. Jefferson, who started in place of Martin, drew five fouls in 16 minutes.
