Chicago Bulls prevailed when two of the most successful franchises in NBA history, but struggling recently, faced each other. The Bulls' struggles are well-documented, and the Celtics haven't made the playoffs for six years.
Bulls ended Celtics streak at 6 games and raised the home record at 50%. The victory didn?t come easy as the Bulls rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to even the game 70-70 at the end of the 3rd. The Bulls never gave up, earning an 87-84 victory to raise their record to 4-15.
"As players, our job is to come to practice every day, play in the games and not get distracted," Pierce said. "But it's tough to concentrate on basketball and making a team better when all this is going on. I think it got to a certain point players were distracted. Players did not know what to think.
"The same thing, I think, is going on here in Chicago," Pierce said. "Players don't know what to think. Any day the coach could quit or get fired and you don't know what's next for the team."
"It's been very frustrating, difficult," said Brown, who is in the second year of a three-year, $7.5 million contract. "But I'm no quitter. I'll keep working. I just want to get out there to help my teammates."
