John Denton of the Florida Today reports: Today is the first day Golden State's Marc Jackson is eligible to be traded, and the Orlando Magic seemed poised to possibly trade for the second-year center.

Orlando has had just 11 players on its active roster the past four games and has intentionally left the slot open in case it was able to swing a trade or sign a free agent who could provide some help to its smallish frontline. Jackson, in Orlando earlier this month with the Warriors, said the Magic of late have shown great interest in trading for him.

"The only thing I've heard is, "We're going to get you some help," Magic guard Tracy McGrady said of his conversations with head coach Doc Rivers and general manager John Gabriel. "(Jackson) came in here, and beat our butts last year. We won the game, but he put up some good numbers. He's a workhorse and a guy who definitely could help us.

To land the 6-foot-10, 270-pound Jackson, Golden State likely to insist upon getting a first-round draft pick, a potential free agent and cash in return. Orlando has stockpiled seven first-round picks spanning the next four seasons.
