It wasn"t anything Jerry Sloan thought about before hand but for one night anyway, the Jazz youth movement was in full swing.

The Jazz coach used just eight players in Monday"s 101-89 victory over the Miami Heat, going the entire way with mainstream players John Stockton, Karl Malone and Bryon Russell -- and five other guys with less than three years experience.

The result was a lineup at times that was straight out of the Rocky Mountain Review, but also an overall team effort as good as anything the Jazz have mustered in recent weeks.

Six players scored in double-figures for the Jazz, including all five starters, with a resurgent Russell leading the way.

Russell, who entered the game mired in a 7-for-45 shooting slump, contributed a game-high 20 points. He went 5-for-9 from the field, including 3-for-4 from the 3-point line, and me made 7-of-9 free throws.

He also contributed three steals in a decisive second quarter stretch.

""The shots were always there, they just weren"t going in," Russell said of his slump. ""I just went back to basics, following through, not leaning back on my shot, not worrying about it."
