If the Kings didn't already have a sense of urgency regarding tonight's opportunity to end their first-round playoff series against the Utah Jazz, they might have found some added motivation following an NBC promotion Sunday.

Unofficial word had filtered down from the league that the first game of a potential second-round series would begin Saturday. Then the network promotion confirmed, after the Los Angeles Lakers-Portland Trail Blazers telecast, that the Kings, should they advance, will meet the Dallas Mavericks at Arco Arena at 3:30 p.m.

That means, if the Kings beat the Jazz tonight, they will have four days to prepare for Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against Dallas. If not, they'll have to play the Jazz on Thursday night at Arco to advance, then bounce back Saturday to deal with the Mavericks.
