Jodie Valade of the Dallas Morninig News reports that Dallas Mavericks? restricted free agent Wang Zhi-Zhi will be playing in an NBA summer league. But he won?t be part of the Mavs? summer team.

The Golden State Warriors will announce their summer league roster on Monday. Their first-round picks, Mike Dunleavy and Jiri Welsch will be on the squad with Zhi-Zhi.

Dallas coach and general manager Don Nelson said Wang would not play on the Mavericks summer team after he disobeyed two summonses to return to China for mandatory national team training. Nelson said he did not want to support Wang's action, which breaks the Mavericks' promise to China that Wang would return to his native country at end of the NBA season.

Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban said that Wang?s status on the Warriors summer team will not affect his place with the Mavericks. As a restricted free agent, the Mavericks can match any offer up to the mid-class exception of about $4.6 million. Cuban says the team plans to do just that.
