Tim buckley of the deser News writes, "Beyond bickering over money and the length of the deal, agent Dwight Manley says lines of communication may be bogging contentious contract negotiations between the Jazz and his free-agent client, forward Donyell Marshall."

"In the past, I've always dealt with (Jazz owner) Larry (H. Miller)," said Manley, who also represents Jazz star Karl Malone and ex-Jazz swingman Bryon Russell, and who previously represented former Jazz starting center Olden Polynice.

"Now I'm negotiating with Kevin (O'Connor, the Jazz vice president of basketball operations)," Manley added. "It takes time for things to go up the ladder, and then come down the ladder. That's certainly Larry's prerogative. But I'm talking with Kevin, while really I'm negotiating with Larry."
