Tim Povtak of the Orlando Sentinel reports: Magic forward Tracy McGrady sat out Sunday's 77-75 victory at home against Miami with back spasms.

He left TD Waterhouse Centre midway through the first quarter after an hour of treatment in the training room. Team doctors advised him that spending the game on the sideline might cause more problems with his back.

McGrady's back acted up immediately after the team returned home Saturday morning from their nine-day road trip. McGrady said the problem was related to the couch he slept on during the flight home from Indiana.

"I slept on it wrong, and just woke up in pain," he said. "But this is not at all related to what I went through at the end of last season. It's a different spot completely, a different problem. I'll be back by Wednesday [against the Los Angeles Lakers].

Grant Hill also missed the game with tendinitis in his left ankle.

However, Hill told Head Coach Doc Rivers said he would play wednesday against the Lakers.
