Forget the drafting of Frederick Weis for just a moment and think forward to Milos Vujanic, the Knicks' second round pick who everyone considers to be a steal.  Now it looks like Vujanic might be stolen from the Knicks, Marc Berman of the New York Post writes, as Spanish club Real Madrid appears ready to throw money at the guy the Knicks labelled their future point guard Mandrid papers are speculating.

Knick GM Scott Layden is aware of the possibility of Vujanic signing with another European club outside the Yugoslavian league which is partly why Layden traveled to Yugoslavia to meet with Vujanic last week for the second time in two months.

Vujanic could earn more than the NBA minimum for second round picks ($400,000) in Europe next season, and he has already commented on the Knicks excess storage of point guards.  New York could use part of their mid-level ($4.5M) exception  to get Vujanic more money, but Berman believes it is unlikely due to this season's free agent class.
