When Michael Jordan and Washington Wizards owner Abe Pollin sit down for their long-overdue meeting this week, Jordan will want to hear Pollin say he is willing to give the former player complete control of personnel decisions.

But what is perhaps even more important to Jordan is something Pollin, at least for the moment, cannot give him: long-term ownership. And, with that in mind, Jordan apparently is exploring other options.

One league source yesterday confirmed Jordan and the expansion Charlotte team, scheduled to begin play in the 2004-05 season, are "looking to get together" to discuss his possible involvement with the franchise as an executive. However, it is believed, partial ownership is not a possibility in Charlotte.
