While five NBA teams are without head coaches, Indiana Pacers coach Isiah Thomas is weighing his options to fill two vacancies on his staff.

The contracts of Brendan Malone and Jim Stack expired at the end of the season.

After three years on Thomas' staff, Malone returned home for a similar position with the New York Knicks, where his son is also an assistant to coach Don Chaney.

Stack could follow Malone's lead. The Chicago native is a candidate for a similar position with the Bulls. Stack, 41, spent 13 seasons with the Bulls as executive vice president Jerry Krause's top assistant before joining Thomas' staff three years ago. Stack's family lives in Chicago.
