The Bulls have a lot of options, probably more than they would like heading into Thursday's NBA draft.

Should they select a point guard such as Kirk Hinrich because of the injury to Jay Williams? That could send a message to last year's No. 2 pick that they aren't counting on him coming back from his severe injuries sustained in last week's motorcycle crash. Such a move could slow his mental rehabilitation.

Or should they take a shooting guard such as Dwyane Wade even though their leading scorer is shooting guard Jalen Rose, and he has the longest contract on the team?

Or should they take a chance on Frenchman Mickael Pietrus, a terrific athlete, but also a shooting guard? They could go for a pure shooter and a small forward, someone like Georgia's Jarvis Hayes, who is considered a poor ballhandler.

Bulls general manager John Paxson has the seventh overall pick in a draft that is not considered particularly strong after the top three or four picks. The top four are expected to be high schooler LeBron James, Serbia-Montenegro's Darko Milicic, Syracuse's Carmelo Anthony and Georgia Tech's Chris Bosh.
