Magic guard Rod Strickland would not mind if his team traded him to a playoff contender.

"Sure," said Strickland, obviously looking for a lifeboat. "Hey, I'm 37. I don't have much time left in this league, you know? If something has to be done here [the Magic making trades], then, yeah."

However, the Magic cannot trade Strickland because he just signed with the team on November 25 and under league rules, teams have to wait three months before they can trade a player and on February 19, which is the trading deadline, he would miss the cut-off date by six days.

So, don't be surprised if the Magic, who are a league-worse 13-38, waive him before the March 1 deadline for players to be waived and still be eligible for the playoffs.
