Recent trades and the loss of Kenyon Martin have left the New Jersey Nets with a budget surplus.  Many speculated that Richard Jefferson would be the sole beneficiary of these actions as he is next on the Nets ?to-do? list.

However, the Nets actions as of late, which have baffled many, including the potential trade of fan-favorite, Jason Kidd, have cast a shadow of doubt over how much money, if any, Jefferson is set to receive.

Jefferson would become a restricted free agent next summer if he doesn't sign an extension by Oct. 31, but unlike Martin, he's expected to settle for approximately $10 million less than the maximum or something in the vicinity of $75 million to $77 million for six years.
