Orlando Magic head coach Johnny Davis and Seattle Sonics' head coach Nate McMillan were named their respective conference's Coaches of the Month for games played in November.

Davis led Orlando to a 8-5 record, its best start since the lockout shortened 1998/99 season, when the team started 10-3. This marks a significant turnaround from last season's 1-12 record after first 13 games.

McMillan and Seattle are off to a flying 13-3 start, including a nine-game winning streak, to hold the second-best winning percentage in the West. The Sonics led the league in three-point field goal percentage (39.2%) and held opponents to a league-low 35.1 rebounds and 6.4 steals per game.
