New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that guard Jermaine Jackson has been signed as a free agent to a 10-day contract and center Jackie Butler has been placed on the Injured List with right patella tendinitis.

Jackson, 6-4, 202-pounds, was averaging 20.8 points and 11.8 assists in 14 games for the Great Lakes Storm of the Continental Basketball Association this season. The Detroit, MI-native had won CBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week awards three times over the past two months. In three NBA seasons, Jackson owns career averages of 2.2 points and 1.6 assists in 84 games with the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks.

Butler, 6-10, 250-pounds, was signed as a free agent on Feb. 27 and has yet to appear in a regular season game.
