On night one of the NCAA Tournament Regional finals, the night belonged to Arizona senior Salim Stoudamire who hit a game-winning 17-foot jumper to defeat Oklahoma State 79-78.
The shot surely solidified Stoudamire's draft value.
``I thrive on those situations. That's what I live for,'' Stoudamire said. ``That's why I play basketball. Bigtime players step up in bigtime situations, and I see myself as one of those players.''
In other action, Illinois weathered runs by UW-Milwaukee, beating the Cinderella school by a final score of 77-63.
Another player whose name will be called in June, Bronx native Francisco Garcia hit five 3-point field goals, helping Louisville advance to the Elite 8, defeating Washington.
In the fourth game, West Virginia ended Bobby Knight's run, beating his Texas Tech Red Raiders 65-60.
