Brian Windhorst of the Akron Beacon-Journal is reporting that an NBA insider has indicated that Indiana Pacers executive David Morway has become the front-runner to replace Jim Paxson as the Cavaliers' general manager.

He could be hired once the Pacers are eliminated from the playoffs.

Morway is currently the vice president of basketball administration for the Pacers.

He is especially known for his expertise with the salary cap and for talent evaluation.  He has a favorable reputation around the NBA.

Morway appears to fit what Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert said he desired in a general manager, someone from a ``highly successful organization.''
