According to newly appointed Magic head coach Brian Hill, Doug Christie reiterated his desire to be traded out of Orlando.

"He's coming off (ankle) surgery and it's tough to trade people until they can prove their value again. Hopefully he'll have a change of mind... because I think Doug is a pretty good basketball player, especially at the defensive end of the floor. I'd love to have him back here to try and fit in with this team," Hill said.

His earlier demand came on the heels of a rift with then GM John Weisbrod, whom Christie chastised for not defending him from public criticism. Weisbrod met with Christie at his home in Seattle at season's end in an effort to come to terms before abruptly resigning several weeks later.

When reached by the Orlando Sentinel, Magic co-GM Dave Twardzik refused to comment on the situation.
