Eric Williams knows this is not the place for him, and he's let the Raptors know, too.

Stopping short of demanding a trade, the seldom-used veteran forward said he hopes Toronto general manager Rob Babcock can do something before the Feb. 23 trade deadline to help him out.

"Definitely (a trade) would be the best thing," Williams said yesterday. "I'm still able to play. I've been a starter for 10 years of my career so I know I can help somebody win games. This is just one of those situations."

Williams has been around long enough, though, to realize what he wants isn't necessarily going to happen.

"Who knows? We'll see what happens," he said. "I'm qualified to play anywhere, and you can pretty much get anybody to sit on the bench, any young guy, give him a chance to come to practice, get some reps instead of me being in that position because I'm still able to play."
