Toronto Raptor?s Andrea Bargnani and the Portland Trail Blazers? Brandon Roy today were named the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month, respectively, for January.

Bargnani, selected first overall in the 2006 NBA draft, has averaged 11.1 points and 3.6 rebounds for the month of January. He has also led the team in scoring off the bench six times and reached double-digits in points 10 times.  Bargnani is ranked third among rookies in points (10.2) as well as free throw percentage (.837). He is also ranked fourth in minutes (23.2) and blocks (0.89) and ninth in rebounds (3.7).

Roy, who landed in Portland after a trade from Minnesota (via Boston) in June, led all rookies in scoring (16.6 ppg), steals (1.69 spg) and minutes (34.4  mpg) in January. He tied for second in assists (3.4 apg) and placed third  in  rebounds (4.8 rpg). Roy posted a season-high 28 points and added nine  rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 99-95 win over Milwaukee on Jan. 21 and notched 25 points and eight assists in a 100-91 win over Denver on Jan. 31.
