Despite numerous trade rumors, Knicks point guard Stephon Marbury claims that his heart is still in The Big Apple, according to The New York Daily News.

"If I'm here, I'm here," Marbury said. "If I'm not, I could do it someplace else. I'm just getting my mind and my body right. I love New York, but if I wasn't going to be here, I wouldn't be here."

Marbury's expiring contract will pay him $22 million this season.

His almost untradable deal has finally become a bargaining chip for teams in need of cap relief at the end of next season, and there have already been rumors that new coach Mike D'Antoni would like to ship him to the Suns in exchange for Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw, two of his favorite players.

"I changed my whole workout regimen to get ready for him," Marbury said. "I've been doing what Karl Malone did, running up the mountains. I think from watching how the Suns play and the way he allowed Steve Nash to orchestrate certain situations, I could see myself fitting into that."

When asked if he still wanted to be a Knick, Marbury said, "Definitely. I love the Knicks. Last year was a lot of trauma for everybody, especially myself. This is the year. It's a new regime."
