The Detroit Pistons evened up their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night with a key road victory, 103-97.

Richard Hamilton lead with 25 points and Rasheed Wallace added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Pistons, who shot 49% from the field and turned the ball over just nine times.

The home loss was the first for the Celtics during this postseason.

The Pistons used a key second quarter run to grab control of the game, heading into the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead.

Paul Pierce has 26 points and 5 assists and Kevin Garnett added 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Celtics, who outrebounded Detroit by eight and cut the lead to two late in the fourth quarter.

Ray Allen broke out of his postseason slump, notching 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting, including 2-for-4 from behind the arc.

Chauncey Billups made a reverse layup with 19 seconds on the clock to give Detroit a 100-94 lead out of a timeout. Allen answered with a very deep three-pointer, but the Pistons made their free throws down the stretch to give them a Game Two victory.

Game Three will be Saturday night in Detroit as the momentum will be on the line at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
