The Boston Celtics earned their first road win of the playoffs against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night, 94-80.

The Celtics brought an eighteen-point lead into halftime, and withstood several late charges by the Pistons to secure a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Kevin Garnett had 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and Kendrick Perkins tallied 12 points and 10 boards in the win for Boston, who outrebounded Detroit by sixteen and made 46% of their field goal attempts.

Ray Allen had 14 points, on 5-for-16 shooting, while Paul Pierce attempted just six shots and recorded five turnovers at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Richard Hamilton led Detroit with 26 points and rookie Rodney Stuckey contributed 17 points and 4 assists for the Pistons, who made just 38% of their shots and forced fifteen Boston turnovers.

Rasheed Wallace, who fouled out with a few minutes to go, tallied 12 points and 8 rebounds in the Game Three loss.

Chauncey Billups played fewer minutes than Stuckey, and made just one shot on six tries. Tayshaun Prince excelled defensively, recording a pair of key steals, but he shot just 2-for-11 from the field.

Boston finally showed why they posted to NBA's best road record during the regular season.

Detroit fell behind by twenty points early in the fourth, but were able to cut the lead down to nine with 3:05 left.

Garnett nailed a pair of free throws less than a minute later and the Pistons never inched closer.

Game Four will be Monday night in Detroit as the Pistons look to even up the series before it shifts back to Boston.
