Back in February of 2004, when the Detroit Pistons acquired Rasheed Wallace from Atlanta in a trade which also involved the Boston Celtics, Pistons' GM Joe Dumars and Danny Ainge of the Celtics had a wink deal involving Lindsey Hunter, who was sent to Boston, the Detroit News is reporting.

In order to land Wallace - and ultimately the 2004 title - Detroit had to send Lindsey Hunter to Boston, but Hunter never even left Michigan and was waived a week after the trade before re-signing with Detroit.

"I knew what the deal was," Hunter said. "I wasn't running my mouth about that type of thing. We knew what was going on the whole time."
