Byron Scott officially signed a two-year contract extension with the Hornets on Wednesday, according to The Times-Picayune.

New Orleans set a franchise record this year for regular-season victories with 56, and captured their first division title.

"Obviously, I'm thinking about things we need to do for next year, things I need to do with certain guys to get them better," Scott said. "I don't think I have to mess with David and C.P. too much. I think they've proven their worth as far as NBA basketball players."

"I've talked to Tyson about some things I want him to do, and Hilton (Armstrong) and Julian (Wright), who I think are going to be vital to our success next year coming off that bench. As long as I feel in my heart and in my mind that these guys are still paying attention and listening and understanding where I'm coming from, hopefully this will be a marriage made in heaven," he concluded.
