After the Nets traded Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson, many speculated that Vince Carter didn't want to be with the team anymore, but he insists he's committed.

"When they said, 'You?re going to jump ship,' I don?t believe that," Carter said. "I?m here. It says New Jersey on my jersey, and I?m going to do my job."

Carter is leading this mostly young group in training camp. Devin Harris and Eduardo Najera are veterans too, but this is Carter?s team.

The playoffs aren't completely out of the question for this team, but they are in the process of rebuilding and Carter appears to be fine with that.

"I?m OK with that," Carter said. "I would love to win a championship. But to take a team that is considered rebuilding and become a playoff team, there?s a lot of satisfaction in that for me."
