There had been speculation this week that John Wall could declare for the 2009 NBA Draft due to the Word of God point guard being a fifth-year senior and 19-years-old, but that now looks like a moot issue.

"I already promised my mom and my dad, before he died" -- he passed away from cancer when Wall was 9 -- "that I was going to college, so I'm not even thinking about the NBA this year," Wall told SI.com. Because he's not in a postgraduate year of high school, Wall said, "I don't think I'd even be eligible anyway, and even if I was, I wouldn't go in the draft."

Wall was leaning towards Memphis before John Calipari left to Kentucky and now he is reportedly considering Kentucky, North Carolina, Baylor, Kansas, N.C. State, Duke, Arizona and UCLA.
