A hairline fracture in Yao Ming's left foot has ended his season.

Yao will wear a walking boot for eight to 12 weeks to heal the fracture.  No surgery is needed.

The Rockets will carry on without their star center.  They trail the Lakers 2-1 in the Western Conference semi-final playoff series with game 4 Saturday.
