Dwight Howard likes Orlando's chances to compete in the Eastern Conference, despite the criticism the team has received.

"I really like our team," Howard told Yahoo! Sports.

Howard thinks the addition of Vince Carter, who was acquired in a trade from the Nets, will help the Magic improve.

"Everybody knows Vince," Howard said. "He's one of the best two guards in the game. He can do just about anything on the floor."
