Celtics guard Marquis Daniels is going to miss some time with a left wrist and thumb injury.

Daniels noticed the problem in a game against the Pacers last month and aggravated the injury in practice on Sunday.

"It's been swollen the last couple days, so it's better to just rest it up," Daniels said. "I wanted to keep playing but [coach Doc Rivers] said it's best to rest it. I thought I could play through it."

He could have an MRI on Monday.

"It's not broken, though," Daniels said. "But it's not getting better and I keep getting hurt in practice and games. Hopefully, it shouldn't be long.

"It's very frustrating. I don't want to miss any games and practice time, but we're working on the playoffs and the future. So, just be ready down the stretch. I don't want to sit out, regardless of the situation. We're playing good, we're building for down the stretch. So hopefully it will just take a couple days."

He missed the final month of last season, while with Indiana, with a right wrist strain.

Daniels said he aggravated the injury while catching a pass from Rajon Rondo in practice.
