Kentucky defeated Ole Miss by a 75-66 final, but were up by only two points with less than two minutes remaining.

John Calipari saw the close win as a learning opportunity.

“I kept telling them late in the game, I'm really happy this is a close game because we're going to be in some other ones,” Calipari said. “And we need this. And I want to see which men step up and make plays.”

Kentucky missed three shots and committed three turnovers to let Ole Miss back in the game in the middle of the second half.

“We were up 12, and what happens is young guys think the game's over,” Calipari said. “Well I saw a team down 19 win today. Another team down 15 won today. Every possession matters, and if you take your foot off the gas, you're going to get beat.”
