The Erie BayHawks waived guard Kyle Spain Saturday because of a left knee injury and added Chaz McCrommon.

"My injury has prevented me from playing to my full capabilities," said Spain, who is still in Erie. "Which is why we have this medical waiver going on right now. It's all right."

By waiving Spain for injury reasons, the BayHawks retain his rights and can bring him back for the D-League playoffs, which begin Wednesday.

Spain, who went to San Diego State, averaged 8.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

"I'm OK with it," said Spain. "It shouldn't be too long."
