The Atlanta Hawks scored most of their points from the perimeter against the Orlando Magic in Game 1.

"We want to make them do something else," Dwight Howard said. "Jamal Crawford shot a lot of jump-shots; we didn't force him to get the ball to the basket and try to finish; same thing with Joe Johnson, with the floaters from far away and jump-shots. We've gotta make those guys do different things."

It's difficult for the Magic to defend the Hawks' jumpers because the Hawks possess a size advantage at all of the backcourt spots. Kirk Hinrich (6-foot-4), Jamal Crawford (6-5) and Johnson (6-7) are all lengthy for guards.

That allows the Hawks to isolate their shooters and allow them to take pull-up jumpers in one-on-one situations, negating the Magic's ordinarily solid team defense.

Only 11 of Atlanta's 19 successful outside jumpers were assisted.

"What we've got to do, I think, is do a better job of taking away their space to get the pull-ups," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. "We've gotta get our help to them a little bit earlier and try to keep them out on the perimeter a little bit more."
