Tyronn Lue wants the Cleveland Cavaliers to play faster but the players aren't conditioned to do that presently.

LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love each asked out of the game earlier than he expected against the Chicago Bulls. This caused the Cavaliers to not have any of the Big 3 on the floor for about two minutes in the first quarter.

“Early we wanted to push it, we wanted to open the floor and I think we came out and did that. And then I think we just dropped off the map. I think we got tired,” Lue said. “I just don’t think we’re in good enough shape right now to play in the style that we want to play.”

Kyrie Irving spoke earlier in the week about wanting to get the ball up the floor faster.

"We got better in some forms of the game tonight,” James said. “I think we had a few miscues defensively, but for the most part defense wasn’t our problem tonight, at all. And if I can say that more times than saying that offense wasn’t the problem, I think we’ll be pretty good. We’ll be OK. When you leave a game saying our defense was the problem more often than your offense, you should start worrying, and that wasn’t the case.”

Lue ran the defense while David Blatt ran the offense when he was assistant coach. Lue now wants to handle both, though Jim Boylan and Larry Drew will assist him.
