The Dallas Mavericks are actively exploring trade scenarios involving DeAndre Jordan and the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers granted permission to Jordan to explore trade scenarios with other teams as he considers whether to opt into the final season of his deal.

Jordan has a deadline of Friday at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to decide whether to invoke his player option for next season, which is valued at $24.1 million.

If Jordan becomes a free agent, the Mavericks would be forced to try to sign him in free agency.

Jordan agreed to sign with the Mavericks in 2015 but eventually backed out of his deal to re-sign with the Clippers.
