Terry Stotts and Michael Malone each backed their own player during a dispute between Enes Kanter and Nikola Jokic during a free throw in game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The sequence, which Kanter highlighted on his Twitter account, appears to show Jokic throwing an elbow into Kanter's separated shoulder as he boxed Kanter out on a free throw attempt.

Stotts said that the play was "uncalled-for" and that he "didn't approve of it."

Michael Malone disagreed, saying that there was no intent behind Jokic's play.

"Normal play. I think Terry is off base there. Personally, I don't think it was anything malicious. Just like some of their screens in the first two games, I don't think there was anything malicious to it -- with Kanter getting tossed into Torrey Craig. This is the playoffs. We're all big boys, let's go out and play the game accordingly."
