New president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas laid out his vision to turn the Minnesota Timberwolves into a modern team at his introductory press conference.

“We want to be strategic, and we want to play to our strengths. A lot of it has to do with roster. But I think you’re going to see a lot of similarities in how the modern game is being played. We’re going to question the norm in everything we do,” he said.

Rosas brings his experience from shaping the Rockets style of play.

“We were able to push the limits of how that’s played in terms of pace, in terms of space, in terms of shot selection, how we utilize players,” he said of his time in Houston.

Rosas added that he wants the Wolves to be at the forefront of the modern game.

“We’re going to be very creative...Where the modern game is going, we want to be at the front of that.”
